Motives Motives Motives Motives. So much controversy over one little brand. I've heard so much about it and have even have seen the product books and packaging. That alone was impressive because the products have the look of a high quality brand. But as you know, i don't make decisions off of looks alone. I have to play in it a bit.
I was glad when Lisa Montgomery Moffa invited me to view her salon presentation. I was like FINALLY, i get to touch the products. Her product knowledge was impeccable , the demo was exceptional but I want to get my hands on it.
So here's my thoughts:
The line has so many products and 99% of what i tried was truly awesome. They have professional products that deliver professional results. They have professional makeup artist products that you can't get from most cosmetic companies that allow you to sell their products. So when they say this is not your typical line, they aren't telling you a lie. The products are fairly priced, not super cheap but not super expensive.
My favorite products of the night
-Motives Custom Blend Foundation ($40)
You can now tailor your foundation just for you. You can customize the color, the formula, the add ons, etc. Need extra moisture in your foundation? You can add that in. Need silicone in the foundation to make it HD? Yes, you can add that as well. So many options. And the great thing is that the foundation is mixed right in front of you and then it is transferred to foundation bottle with the motives logo on the front.
-Motives Eye Base ($14)
It smoothes a neutralizes the lid without adding color. It's a light cream to powder finish. I applied an eyeshdow over it just to test and I experienced no creasing
-Motives Eye Candy Creme Eye Shadows ($15.75)
MY FAVORITE PRODUCT OF THE NIGHT. You can use these alone or as an eyeshadow base. The colors are so pigmented and long-lasting that I was amazed. You usually dont get this type of pigmentation from cream shadows. I mixed the cotton candy cream shadow with a purple regular shadow and the combination was GORGEOUS!!!!!!
-Motives Pressed Eye Shadoe ($12)
Pigmented isn't the word. And I used them dry. I can only imagine what they would look like if i used them wet. (see watch at the end)
-Lip Pumice ($14.95)
You can get rid of all the dry and chapped skin on the lips with this one tube wonder. It gently exfoliates without being too harsh
-Hydrating Lip Balm ($17.50)
This product contains Vitamin A and C and hyaluronic acid with collagen, shea butter, tangerine butter, and natural tangerine oil. The must have treatment of the season
-Full Color Lip Shine ($16.95)
This is a mineral based formula that delivers super pigmented color. You usually don't get that from a lipshine. (see the swatch at the bottom)
-Rich Formula Lipstick ($14)
Super creamy. Super blendable. Lots of moisture. Beautiful colors. Need I say more?
-Lip Crayons ($14)
The lip liner with the most!!!! Super creamy. Doesn't skip. and its super long-lasting
All of the setting sprays ($29 each)
-10 Years Younger Setting Spray- sets your makeup and reduces fine lines and creasing
-Weightless Moisturizer with SPF 8- A lightweight moisturizing spray that's great for all skin types
-No More Shine Makeup Spray- Reduces melting, sliding and creasing and also creates a shine free canvas before you apply your makeup (A MUST HAVE FOR OILY SKIN)
-Dual Perfection Powder- ($25)
Also known as the wet/dry powder. You can use it dry to set your foundation or use it wet for more coverage (and when they say wet, don't wet the product, wet your sponge or skin.)
-Liquid Powder Mineral Foundation ($24.95)
A mineral liquid foundation that self sets. It dries to a powdery finish. LOVE THIS STUFF!
There's so many other products in this line that are sensational. You just have to see for yourself. I'm jumping on the Motives bandwagon, so watch for tutorials and links. I want to jump on-board while I still can!!!
