Testing Testing. Soft Cut Crease Practice

Disclaimer!!!! I did NOT comb my hair! It is my day off and I had on a satin bonnet most of the day! I just took it off and this is what my hair looks like! So dont crucify me please! lol

So I don't usually do cut crease looks but I wanted to start to expand my creativity! So this is what I'm practicing this week on my few days off. I will do a quick list of products I used because I didn't prep n prime and I cut out a lot of stuff I usually do.

My eyes:

NYX White Eyeshadow Base

MAC Golden Rod e/s on the lid

MAC Golden Lemon Pigment over Golden e/s

MAC Rule e/s above the crease

MAC Shroom e/s as the brow hi-lite

MAC Sketch e/s in the crease

MAC Beauty Marked e/s in the outter v

MAC Carbon e/s to add a bit more definition

MAC Sun Blonde e/s in the inner tear duct

MAC Minted eyekohl in the water line

MAC Surf USA e/s smudged into the water line

Maybelline Define A Line Liquid Liner pressed into the upper lash line

MAC False Lash Mascara

Brows:

MAC Stud Brow Pencil

*this is the first time i did my brows after shadow so there was no concealer used to clean up*

Face:

MAC Light Boost Prep n Prime Hiliter and Studio Moisture Cover Concealer in NC 43 (under eye)

MAC Prep N Prime Translucent Pressed Powder to set concealer

MAC Studio Fix Powder in NC 45

IMAN Sable Blush as Contour

MAC Pressed Amber Mineralized Blush on the cheeks

(i didnt moisturize, prime, etc)

Lips:

Viva Glam Gaga 2 Gloss

So!!! WHAT DO YOU THINK? Let me know your thoughts. I'm going to try a more difficult cut crease tomorrow!!! Oy ve!!! lol



MAC ME OVER!!! FOTD

So even though Hurricane is scbeduled to hit in a few hours, I still had to make it to work for a couple of hours. I didnt feel like doing my makeup this morning so this makeover was done completely at work, so everything is MAC. EVERYTHING!!!!. Hope you like!!!!

FYI:: MSF AND MSFN mean Mineralized Skin Finish and Mineralized Skin Finish Natural

PREP N PRIME:

I prepped with Fix +

Oil Control Lotion (moisturizer)

Skin Base (Primer)

Vibrancy Eye (under eye primer)

ABOUT FACE:

Studio Fix Fluid in NC 44 (foundation)

Prep N Prime Hi-Liting Sticks in "Light Boost" and "Bright Forecast as concealer/hilight (mixed them both)

Set hi-lite with prep n  prime translucent powder (pressed)

Sun Power MSF as contour

Dark MSFN to enforce contour

Medium Dark MSFN to set foundation

Ambering Rose Blush

JUST BROWzing:

I filled my brows with Spiked Pencil

GETTING LASHed:

I used False Lash and Zoom Lash Fast Black Mascara in a combo (one coat of each)

EYEmazing:

ALL FROM THE MAC ME OVER COLLECTION

I used "Street Cool" Shade Stick as a base

I used the "Evil Eye" Eyeshadow Quad.

From Left to right:

I used the dark silver/grey tone (bottom right) on the lid

I used the dark purple tone (top right) in the crease

I used the light purple (top right) right above the crease to create a gradient effect ( i also smudged this in the lower lash line)

I used Creamy Bisque e/s in the brow bone

I used Satin Taupe e/s in the inner tear duct

I lined my water line with Smolder eyekohl

I deepened up the outter v with Carbon e/s (the only shadow not in the MAC ME OVER COLLECTION)

LIPSHOCK:

I used Rebel lipstick and Good Times lipglass (both in the MAC ME OVER Collection)

I ALSO HAVE QUIET TIME Nail Polish on my nails. TO be shown at a later date!!!!!!



FOTD + FOTN: ROCKIN WITH THE K.WORD (PRIDE EDITION)

Soooo, I had never heard of PRIDE weekend until a fellow friend and bloggist asked me to contribute to her PRIDE edition blog special. Apparently it is one of the biggest gay/lesbian/transgender weekends of the year!!! Its supposed to be going down (no pun intended) in about two weeks. So, I signed on in cohoots (is that how you spell that) with K. of www.thekword.com to bring you some looks for the BIG WEEKEND!!!!!!! Since, i want you to look your absolute best, I have a few choices for you and I'm listing all the products you'll need to acheive these looks.

M.A.C Studio Finish Concealer in NW40 (to conceal dark circles)

NYX Copper Blush on apples of the cheek

M.A.C Blot Powder to set foundation (this can also be layered all day to stop shine and oil control, it is translucent there for it doesn't distribute pigment to the skin.)

EYES:

M.A.C Painterly Paint Pot (as base)

M.A.C Retrospekt e/s (lid)

M.A.C Saddle e/s (crease )

M.A.C Embark e/s (outter v and lower lash line)

M.A.C carbon e/s (to darken up outter v)

*SIDEBAR: Now it's up to you if you want to play up the eyes or not, you can omit all of these steps and only use Retrospekt on the lid, and it still look amazing! It's all about what YOU choose to wear.

We definitely want to add more Oomph to the face for the night time parties. I've picked a couple looks from my FOTD Aresonal for some fabu hi-drama selections. You can play up the eyes, play up the lips, or go all out and bling them both out!!!!!!!

FUN FACT: If you aren't good with eyeshadows, LASHES can add drama to your look and you can omit the eyeshadow portion. My favorite brands of lashes are KISS, M.A.C, NYX, and Red Cherry!!!!!

I prepped my skin with Embryolisse Lait Creme and Iman Under Cover Agent Oil Controlling Primer

I prepped my lids with Minted EyeKohl by MAC (base)

I used MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC 44 as my foundation

I used MAC Studio Finish concealer in NW 35

I contoured with MAC Dark Mineralized Skin Finish Natural

I highlighted with MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NC 42 and enforced the highlight with Too Faced Leopard Bronzer (it has a frosty sheen)

Working with the Aretha Franklin Camp!

I got one of the best calls of my life last week. I got a call to work with the Aretha Franklin Camp. YES ARETHA EFFIN FRANKLIN!!!! Anyone who knows me, knows that this woman is my FAVORITE OF ALL TIME!!!!! When I got the call, I almost jumped out the bed I was so stoked. The whole experience was awesome! And seeing her in concert was memorable. I'll never forget it.
